Satire, not Scandal edit
This 1721 version of the Grove shows the line as Satire:
"When one good line did much my wonder raise, / In B___'s work, I stood resolv'd to praise; / And had; but that the modest author cries, / 'Praise, undeserv'd is satire in disguise'"--Lmstearn (talk) 03:00, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
- The correct quotation may be "Praise undeserv'd is satire in disguise", but Pope (mis)quoted it as "Praise undeserv'd is scandal in disguise" in The First Epistle of the Second Book of Horace, Imitated (1737), p. 23. ~ DanielTom (talk) 10:29, 13 January 2019 (UTC)
