  • As I grow older and older
And totter toward the tomb
I find that I care less and less
Who goes to bed with whom

Quote Investigator traces this to a letter from Dorothy L. Sayers to John Betjeman dated February 2, 1953, printed in The Letters of Dorothy L. Sayers: Volume Four: 1951-1957: In the Midst of Life, ed. Barbara Reynolds. Gdr (talk) 17:22, 19 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Error? edit

The quotation "A facility for quotation covers the absence of original thought" appears to be bogus. I checked several online copies of Gaudy Night, and none of them have it; furthermore it is a near-duplicate of "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking" from Have His Carcase. Unless someone can confirm it by reference to a printed original, I'm going to remove it. I already talked to Garson O'Toole of Quote Investigator about it, and he can't confirm it either.
