Avoid copyright violation
editI have removed all the lyrics added to this article because they appeared to be substantial (possibly even complete) transcriptions of the songs. Wikiquote collects only pithy excerpts from creative works, including song lyrics. When adding (or re-adding) lyrics, please keep the quotes to a few select lines. Thank you. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 07:45, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
Cleanup
editI've cleanup-tagged this article because its editors have been using inconsistent formatting for quotes. Two basic approaches should be used here:
- The standard bulleting format shown in Wikiquote:Templates/People, placing auxiliary (i.e., non-quote) information like sourcing and context in sub-bullets, and omitting the quotation marks surrounding the quotes, which are redundant with this style.
- A modified version of the standard for use with poetry and lyrics. I've reformatted the "sourced" lyrics using this system. Please take a look at that and use it for other lyrics instances.
Another problem is with sourcing. The point of providing source information is to give a specific, dated, published work with which readers may verify quotes. None of the current "sources" accomplishes this, because they either cite songs without album, DVD, or other published performance titles, or the cite a work (e.g., The Ultimate Collection) without a specific place in the work (e.g., the song or track title). I spent a few minutes trying to track this information down, but I couldn't find sufficient specificity from All Music Guide, w:Bill Bailey, or even Google.
Finally, I see that there are some semi-sources for quotes in the "Unsourced" section. If knowledgeable editors can dig up some of the details I ask for above, it will help other editors not familiar with the artist but willing to do general cleanup to assist in improving this article.
