The following is a list of quotes from the third season of Sonic X.

Metarex Saga

A Cosmic Call/The Messenger from the Meteor Shower

[The episode, season and Metarex Saga begin with a view from outer space from outside the planet Mobius. After a few seconds pass, we see Sonic in his super form, in the form of a golden light, zipping through space in all directions. Explosions are then seen in the form of small lights before they fade. The scene fades into the wreckage of some robots, which are very different than that of Eggman's robots. Sonic appears via teleporting, similar to Shadow. He pants after wiping out the hoard of robots and grabs his left arm while smirking with his usual flair.]

Super Sonic: [in his mind] He's tougher than I thought. I may have fooled around too much. I'd better finish this.

Dark Oak: Your defeat is certain. Give me the Chaos Emeralds and I will spare your life.

[Without any choice, Sonic spreads his hands out to let the Chaos Emeralds orbit around him.]

Super Sonic: Chaos Control!

[The Chaos Emeralds start glowing in response. Dark Oak watches this as Sonic scatters the Emeralds across the universe, but at the cost of his super form without the power of the Emeralds, thus causing him to faint and fall down to Mobius. Dark Oak then sees the damage he absorbed on his left hip from Sonic as red sparks billow. He chuckles evilly.]

Dark Oak: My odds of winning are low if I directly confront him. [He begins to broadcast a message through the entire universe.] This is a message to everyone in the galaxy. The Chaos Emeralds have scattered in all directions. Find and gather them. This is top priority. [Several red eyes flash behind him, showing more of his army, known as the Metarex. He then flies away from Mobius as he continues to contact the rest of his army.] My strategy is proceeding to Phase 2. Dispatch the assault team. [He disappears in a red twinkle.] Capture the Planet Egg from the designated world and begin the seed.

[Something then begins to descend towards Mobius to steal the Planet Egg. Meanwhile, while Sonic continues to unconsciously plummet back to Mobius, he reverts to his normal form and is engulfed in flames as he enters his home planet's orbit and disappears in a white twinkle when he completely enters Mobius. The 53rd episode title card "The Messenger from the Meteor Shower" is shown in the Japanese version, while the English version plays the "Gotta Go Fast" intro theme song.]

Knuckles: You finally had all the emeralds together. And you threw them away?

Sonic: Exactly.

Knuckles: ARE YOU CRAZY?! WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO?!

Sonic: I guess we're gonna have to find them again!

Ship of Doom/Metarex Battleship Attack!

Metarex Hellship/Scarship: Warp complete. Target verified. Now launching attack.

[The Scarship begins bombarding the Crimson Egg by using some of its weaker weapons first. The vibrations from the impact knocks everybody except Shadow backwards, while Rouge is knocked forwards.]

Eggman: What's going on?

Bokkun: That stranger suddenly appeared and started atacking!

[Once the shaking stops, Eggman looks out the window and sees their attacking adversary.]

Eggman: Metarex! [The Scarship fires more weapons at the Crimson Egg. to his minions] Raise the shields!

[His minions activate a shield around the entire ship to block the Scarship's attacks. Despite it, the ship still vibrates, showing how powerful the Scarship is.]

Decoe: It's powerful!

Bocoe: The shields won't hold for much longer!

Eggman: Go, Shadow! [Shadow looks at him.] Unless you don't want to learn about your past...

[Shadow turns his head towards Eggman, as a laser fired by the Scarship is seen on the left side. The Scarship's purple eyes glow as he continues to attack the Crimson Egg. Shadow appears at the top of Eggman's ship, then launches himself towards the Scarship to counterattack the Metarex's attacks.]

Metarex Hellship/Scarship: How dare they underestimate me. I'll show no mercy! [He fires more lasers, which Shadow counters with his Spin Attack. to Shadow] You're pretty good. [Shadow moves upward, then fires himself towards the Metarex while spinning, but when he makes impact, he bounces off without dealing any damage. He stops spinning when his attack doesn't work.] It's pointless!

Shadow: [unfazed] In that case...

[He spins again, this time using the Bounce Attack to attack the Scarship all over as he searches for a weak spot.]

Metarex Hellship/Scarship: I said it was pointless!

[Shadow bounces all around the Scarship, damaging him a little bit as the ship vibrates from the effects. His eyes glow as he reacts in pain from absorbing the Bounce Attack from the Ultimate Life Form. Eggman, Decoe and Bocoe observe the scene from inside the Crimson Egg.]

Eggman: Nice, Shadow!

Decoe: What's going on?

Bocoe: Beats me.

[Eggman places two buckets on them.]

Eggman: This is what's going on! [He hammers the buckets on his two henchmen to demonstrate what Shadow is doing. They then fall down to the floor, dazed after the hammering.] Shadow's Bounce Attack creates reverberations inside the Hellship, destroying it from the inside.

[Meanwhile, Shadow continues bouncing around the Hellship as the latter yells in pain from the damage he's absorbing from the black hedgehog.]

Metarex Hellship/Scarship: Impossible! How does he have so much power?

[Shadow stops spinning, then, with a Dragon Ball type scream and over a background set of gold speed lines, he summons a great deal of power and slams into the chin of the Hellship, knocking him backwards and dealing heavy damage. He growls angrily as his eyes glimmer. Shadow, meanwhile, because he doesn't have any Limiter Rings on his wrists, has fainted from exhaustion after using so much power. Eggman and Rouge witness this from inside the Crimson Egg.]

Eggman: This is bad! He used up all his power because he doesn't have a limiter!

Rouge: [to Eggman] What are you going to do?

Eggman: [typing on a keypad] I'll retrieve him for now!

[A claw extends out of the Crimson Egg to recover the unconscious Shadow. In retaliation, the Hellship starts attacking the Crimson Egg with its stronger weapons.]

Metarex Hellship/Scarship: You fools!

[He fires a swarm of missiles against the Crimson Egg.]

Bokkun: The missiles are heading straight for us!

Eggman: Shoot them down!

[His minions fire lasers to counterattack the missiles, but they get destroyed without dealing any damage.]

Bokkun: [off-screen, shocked] They're all destroyed!

[The Hellship looms closer.]

Eggman: [exclaims] Target all weapons on Metarex!

[Both ships go all out and fire all weapons against each other, with the Crimson Egg taking more damage from the Hellship. The Crimson Egg is knocked backwards after receiving heavy damage from the Metarex. Rouge escapes the scene in her spaceship.]

Rouge: I don't want to get involed. Bye!

[She flies off to safety, while Eggman and his minions are forced to make their own escape.]

Eggman: [to his minions, who are typing] We have to retreat!

Decoe: Agreed!

Bocoe: We'll escape using the Hard Boiled Drive!

Bokkun: [seeing a beeping red dot on the radar] Torpedo closing in! Unable to evade!

[The torpedo missile homes in on the Crimson Egg as Eggman, Decoe and Bocoe look on in extreme terror.]

Eggman, Decoe and Bocoe: What?

[KABLAM!!! The torpedo completely obliterates the Crimson Egg, presumably killing Eggman and his crew as the screen flashes white after the explosion. After the white flash fades, the Hellship plots his next move to wipe out Sonic and his Blue Typhoon crew, as well.]

Metarex Hellship/Scarship: [referring to Sonic] The blue hedgehog is next!

[Eyecatch cards for both the Asteroid Type Spaceship and Metarex Hellship/Scarship are shown. We then return to the Blue Typhoon as Rouge contacts the gang about the recent attack that wiped out the Crimson Egg.]

Tails: What? You must be kidding!

Rouge: I'm not kidding. Take a look.

A Metarex Melee/Clash! Sonic vs Shadow

Super Shadow: [smirks] I see. How we look isn't our only similarity. [Sonic glares at him.] You annoying hedgehog, give me the Chaos Emeralds!

[Shadow's theme starts playing.]

Super Sonic: What are you going to do when you collect the Chaos Emeralds? [Shadow doesn't answer.] So you're just following orders again. [smirks] You're no Ultimate Life Form!

[Angered at that insult, Shadow attacks Sonic and the two super hedgehogs start fighting.]

Mission: Match-Up

Knuckles: If I ever running into those clowns again! Huh? (notices the Chaotixs and screams) You've messed up my face! (lift his shovel claws) And now I'm gonna return the favor!

Clash in the Cloister/Crossing the Galaxy Corridor!

Tails: [off-screen] Fire Sonic Driver!

[The Sonic Power Driver Cannon builds up more blue energy, then fires Sonic at Zelkova, catching him by surprise as the Blue Blur spins towards him over two sets of yellow-green speed lines.]

Yellow Zelkova: Is that a firework? [The background turns blue as Sonic comes closer and closer to him.] Wow! I've never seen a firework up close! Awesome!

Teasing Time/Black Trap

Sonic: What's going on? They made so many fakes. [He suddenly clutches his chest and starts shivering, feeling uneasy at the amount of Fake Emeralds and their negative Chaos Energy.] Their glow is eerie.

Black Narcissus: [off-screen, to Sonic] How long do you plan to stay there? [Sonic looks up as soon as he hears his voice from above.] I'm over here. Come up here. [Sonic does so and confronts the Metarex Commander, who chuckles upon meeting the Blue Blur.] I've been waiting for you. Sonic, the one who controls the light of Chaos.

Sonic: [smirking] I'm sorry that I broke your base. I didn't know where the entrance was. [lowers his head while still eyeing Narcissus] And I had more urgent business.

Black Narcissus: No problem. Besides, I wanted to see if the Sonic Driver's power matched our data. I'm surprised. [The camera cuts to the hole Sonic made while breaking into the base while spinning, from the view of his feet, viewer's right.] According to our calculations, you were supposed to stop in this room. However...

Sonic: [still smirking] Sorry, but everyone's waiting for me to come home. [raises his head] Give me back my two friends.

Dr. Eggman: (to Black Narcissus) I don't like the way you attacked Chris and Cosmo! It's one thing to threaten them and take them prisoner, but when you actually hurt somebody, that's going too far.

Decoe: You said it, Doctor!

Bocoe: Even we have some principles.

The Planet of Misfortune/Please Marmolin!

Tails: What's wrong, Cosmo? Why are you here by yourself?

Cosmo: Hi, Tails. The Marmolims are really happy their planet is saved. You must be happy too.

Tails: I feel lucky to be working in such terrific teammates, especially with you.

Cosmo: (Blushes) I didn't do anything.

Tails: You're wrong, Cosmo.

Cosmo: Huh?

Tails: You found us to help stop the Metarex. Don't you ever forget that. You're not sorry you found us, are ya?

Cosmo: Of course I'm sorry. Why would you think that? Oh! That came out wrong, I mean, I'm not sorry I met you.

Tails: [laughing] Don't worry, I know what you meant. I'll see you later!

Cosmo: Oh, hold on, Tails! (She trips over the rope) Whoa!

[Tails catches Cosmo and they both bounced up and into the water.]

Tails: Are you OK?

Cosmo: I'm fine. I wonder what that was?

Zelkova Strikes Back/The True Form of the Metarex!?

Yellow Zelkova: Prepare to meet your doom! Prepare to perish! Prepare to succumb to the evil that is Yellow Zelkova! Prepare to... Prepare to...

Amy: Prepare to battle?

Tails: I don't know. "Battle" seems kind of weak, doesn't it?

Chris: If it's the same Plasma Shield as before, we should be able to beat it the same way! Ring Road!

[He fires the Ring Road at Zelkova while he battles Knuckles as the Radical Highway theme song, "Vengeance is Mine" from the game Sonic Adventure 2 starts playing.]

Sonic: Here I go!

Yellow Zelkova: I'm getting dizzy! [raises his fist] Stop it!

[Knuckles jumps off, causing Zelkova to accidently punch his own face.]

Knuckles: One more time! [He launches himself at Zelkova again, but the Metarex Commander zaps him backwards, knocking him to the ground. Zelkova then walks up to the red echidna, who gets up and clings onto his right leg, then tries punching his right knee, still not dealing any damage as the yellow Commander looks down at him with a glare.] Take this!

Yellow Zelkova: [raising his leg to try and shake Knuckles off him] Let go of me!

[He zaps Knuckles again, who refuses to let go while wincing in pain from the attack.]

Knuckles: Damn! I won't lose!

[He tries punching Zelkova's leg again, then, with all his strength over a set of yellow speed lines and blurry screen, Knuckles lands a very powerful punch on his leg, finally damaging him, but also causes the spikes on his right hand to break off, resulting in both combatants screaming in pain from the impact. Zelkova falls down on his damaged right knee, furious about being damaged.]

Yellow Zelkova: How dare you!

Knuckles: [landing on his feet] Stay down and cool off!

[Amy and Cream fly past, taking this opportunity to make an escape while observing the battle from above.]

Cream: Knuckles is incredible!

Amy: Let's use this opportunity to escape!

[Zelkova soon gets up after recovering.]

Yellow Zelkova: Don't underestimate me!

[He fires an all-out plasma attack that zaps Knuckles, Amy and Cream into the air. It also zaps Cosmo and Tails inside the Typhoon. He's getting extremely deadly now!]

Tails: Knuckles gave us a chance, but at this rate...

[Suddenly, he soon hears Chris' voice on the radio as he and Sonic have returned.]

Chris: [on radio] Blue Typhoon, do you read me?

Tails: Chris?

[SONIC DRIVE starts playing as Chris lowers his ship from the clouds with Sonic on the left wing.]

Hironobu Kageyama and Hideaki Takatori: S-O-N-I-C, GO!

Tails, Amy, Cream and Cosmo: Sonic! All right!

Hironobu Kageyama and Hideaki Takatori: S-O-N-I-C, GO!

Tails: He's okay!

[Sonic jumps off Chris' ship and lands on Amy's ship, with Amy smiling at him.]

Hironobu Kageyama and Hideaki Takatori: Go, go, go, go, LET'S GO!

Amy: Sonic!

Sonic: We don't have time to waste. We have to do something about him!

[Amy steers her ship to charge at Zelkova, who looks at the ships flying around him.]

Hironobu Kagayama: Yesterday's rules are simply loose today

Yellow Zelkova: What now? I thought I already defeated them! Will nothing deter these puny meddlers?

Hironobu Kageyama and Hideaki Takatori: The best goal is to break them

[Knuckles charges at Zelkova and punches his hand, but gets zapped backwards. Zelkova then notices Sonic and Amy flying right towards him, with the Blue Blur having a coil of cable wrapped around his right shoulder.]

Sonic: Hey, big guy! I'm up here too!

Hironobu Kageyama: If I don't keep running

There's no other meaning

[Sonic jumps off Amy's ship and lunges down at Zelkova.]

Hironobu Kagayama and Hideaki Takatori: It's a punk philosophy

Yellow Zelkova: You idiot! Your attacks don't work!

[He activates his Super Plasma Shield again and zaps Sonic into the air, but this is part of his plan as the cord opens itself while he lands on Cream's ship.]

Hironobu Kagayama: Biorhythm is a two-time rhythm

Cream: Here we go!

Cheese: Chao chao!

Hironobu Kagayama: The scenery instantly becomes countless lines

[Cream begins to fly around Zelkova in loops while Sonic unwinds the cable around the Metarex Commander, forming a ring around him. While that's happening, Chris and Tails set up a pole outside the Blue Typhoon.]

Hironobu Kagayama and Hideaki Takatori: The wind envelops me

Inside Outside attack Surpass everything altogether I won't let anyone or anything get ahead of me Inside Outside, GO! SONIC!! Everything altogether, Yes! Sonic!!

Chris: Okay!

Tails: Cosmo!

Hironobu Kagayama and Hideaki Takatori: "Watch out" and "Have a nice" are similar

[Cosmo is seen standing on the front of the deck and waves a beacon at Sonic.]

Cosmo: Sonic!

[Sonic jumps off Cream's ship to dodge a plasma blast from Zelkova and lands on Amy's ship, seeing Cosmo's beacon from above.]

Hironobu Kagayama and Hideaki Takatori: That's right- both are by the skin of your teeth

Throw boredom away

Sonic: All right! Here goes!

Hironobu Kagayama and Hideaki Takatori: And start running

[Sonic throws his end of the cable down to the ground as he, Amy and Cream fly back to the Typhoon as "SONIC DRIVE" stops playing and changes to "Sonic's Solution".]

Yellow Zelkova: Stop! [He sees the cable all around him, to his confusion.] What's this?

Knuckles: You were so busy chasing Sonic that you never noticed!

[He leaps out of the way for Sonic to spin towards the clouds to simulate them and drag the lightning down to the pole, which strikes it as Sonic stops spinning and leaps out of harm's way while the lightning travels through the cable. Zelkova sees this and tries to shield himself with his Plasma Shield to avoid it, but the lightning overpowers it and electrocutes him, making him scream in sheer agony as his armor turns red from overloading before finally exploding, defeating him once again.]

Chris: Yes!

[Cream, Amy and Sonic observe Zelkova's defeat from above.]

Cream: We did it, Sonic! That was a great success!

Sonic: [landing on Cream's spaceship] Right!

[A defeated Yellow Zelkova collapses to his knees as his armor begins to crumble.]

Yellow Zelkova: [groaning] My shield... What... what is happening to me? [The rest of his armor collapses to reveal that he is not robot. He is a Seedrian just like Cosmo!] Damn! [Chris, Tails, Knuckles and Cosmo watch in shock as pieces of his armor fly everywhere before he finally breaks free from his destroyed armor and stares Knuckles down.] I'm taking you down with me!

[Knuckles reacts in shock as Zelkova grows bigger and bigger while he roars, with his orange shirt ripping entirely to shreds over a set of red speed lines and a blurred screen. Knuckles and Zelkova glare at each other.]

Amy: [off-screen, gasps in horror] What's going on?

[Knuckles and Zelkova prepare their attacks against each other as they lunge at each other, with Knuckles landing a heavy punch on Zelkova, sending him backwards towards the edge of the cliff. Due to his size, the edge crumbles and Zelkova starts falling to his impending death.]

Yellow Zelkova: Dark Oak will be victorious! [Knuckles watches as he falls towards the lava magma pit, with pieces of dirt splashing into the red hot lava, burning them.] He will have revenge!

[His lower body sinks into the magma as he screams in deadly pain. Knuckles leaps down after him to try and save him, surprising Chris, Tails and Cosmo.]

Knuckles: Shovel Claw! [He clings onto the cliff with his left Shovel Claw while extending his right hand.] Grab my hand! [Zelkova starts to try to reach his hand as they struggle, but then stops, surprising the red echidna. He then closes his eyes, then grins at the Power-Type Mobian and withdraws his hand, having accepted his fate and sinks deeper and deeper into the lava as the echidna can only watch helplessly.] Zelkova!

[Yellow Zelkova sinks completely into the magma, killing him and burning his remains. Knuckles turns away and grieves his demise. This scene is very similar to Sonic trying to save Hyper Metal Sonic from a similar fate in the 1996 Sonic OVA film. Knuckles climbs back up to safety as the rest of the crew are shocked at this latest development: The five Metarex Commanders are not robots at all. They are Seedrians, like Cosmo.]

Chris: Is that what a Metarex looks like?

[Meanwhile, inside a base, Eggman, Decoe and Bocoe are analyzing the Metarex's data with Eggman removing a chip from the computer.]

Eggman: Interesting. Just as I thought. By checking all the data, I'll find out the Metarex's plan.

Decoe: [whispering] Dr. Eggman.

Pale Bayleaf: [entering the room] Dr. Eggman, what are you doing here?

Eggman: [hiding the chip behind his back] Your technology is incredible, so I wanted to study it.

Decoe: Dr. Eggman has an inquisitive mind.

Bocoe: He's doing this for the Metarex.

[Bayleaf turns around as he reports the death of Yellow Zelkova, the second Metarex Commander to die following Red Pine's death back in "A Metarex Melee".]

Pale Bayleaf: Yellow Zelkova died.

Eggman: What's that?

Pale Payleaf: He was wearing equipment that you designed for him, and he lost. It seems your so-called Illuma-Shield was of no use to him in the end.

Eggman: What are you trying to say?

[Bayleaf just chuckles and departs from the room. Meanwhile, back with Shadow and Rouge, they discover a Chaos Emerald on top of the tree.]

Rouge: A Chaos Emerald?

Shadow: No. [He takes it and crushes it with his hand, revealing it to be a fake as its pieces fall into the ground below.] This is a fake.

Rouge: Is this why they were making copies of the Chaos Emeralds? [After a moment of silence, they hear a groan from below. They leap down to the forest and, to their shock and horror, the groan came from Leon, who is dying as a tree is growing into him and his clothes are torn.] What?! [The "Revival" part of "3 Black Noises" from Sonic Adventure 2 starts playing.] Shadow, it's that Leon guy from the resistance.

[The dying Leon slowly opens his eyes as Shadow bends down to him.]

Shadow: What happened?

The Cosmo Conspiracy/Assassin Shadow!

Tails: [hearing the buzzer go off and talking over the intercom] Red alert! Red alert! We have an intruder on board the ship!

Shadow: [looming over Cosmo] You traitor!

Sonic: Wait, Shadow. [He gets up, smirking.] You better have a good explanation for this.

[Shadow raises an eyebrow at the Blue Blur while bearing down on him, then, without saying a word, he charges at Sonic, who counters and the two hedgehogs start scuffling with neither of the pincushions able to gain the upper hand as they growl and glare at each other, teeth clenched. Tails then comes rushing in.]

Tails: Sonic!

Sonic: Tails, grab Cosmo and run away!

[Meanwhile, Shadow fires a series of Chaos Spears at Knuckles, who dodges every bombardment by Quick Stepping left to right before trying to land a punch on the black hedgehog, missing as he teleports behind the red echidna and then throws another Chaos Spear at a pipe, causing it to leak and creating a mist that blinds Knuckles, allowing Shadow to escape from his grasp. The song used during this battle is "Chaos 0, 2, 4" from the Dreamcast game "Sonic Adventure".]

Knuckles: Wait! Come back here!

[Before he can chase after Shadow, Rouge shows up from behind Knuckles, catching him by surprise.]

Rouge: (To Knuckles) Are all red-heads as temperamental as you?

Shadow: Hand that girl over now. I don't want to fight you Tails, but I will if I have to.

Tails: Cosmo never did anything to harm you! Why are you after her anyway?!

Shadow: I'm not going to tell you. Now, move aside, or you'll be sorry.

Tails: Forget it, Shadow! I won't let you hurt Cosmo!

Shadow: I'm warning you. This is your last chance, Tails. Give up now, or face the consequences.

Eye Spy

Knuckles: [about the device that the Metarex planted inside Cosmo's head] Can we stop it?

Chris: I'm not sure. If we do she won't be the same. The signal is controlling her sight and hearing. If we remove it she may not be able to hear or see again.

Knuckles: [Growls] Then that's a chance we have to take.

Tails: How can you say that?! I'm not letting anyone hurt Cosmo!

Knuckles: We don't want to hurt her. We just want to set her free, and if she has to lose her eyes and ears, then so be it!

Tails: There has to be another way!

Agent of Mischief

Cosmo: [To Bokkun] I hope you don't mind me asking, but why are those numbers on your TV counting down?

Bokkun: Hmm... I forgot these messages self-destruct at the end. Cover your ears! It's going to be a big bang!

[cue explosion]

Bokkun: [laughs nervously] Betcha didn't know watching TV could be so exciting.

Cream: That was not fun.

So Long Sonic

Dr. Eggman: [laughing] Now that Sonic's team is down by one little annoying pipsqueak, I can get back to building the Eggman Empire!

Bokkun, Decoe, and Bocoe: Alright!

Knuckles: Eggman better not touch the Master Emerald!

Amy: I have to come warn Sonic.

Cream: Come on Cheese. Our friends need our help!

Cheese: Chao!

Rouge: I guess I'll join in, too. This team could use a little glamour.

Tails: Time to rev up the X-Tornado, you guys!

Sonic: Life never stays slow around here for long! Thanks goodness. Watch out, Eggman! I'm comin' at ya full speed!
