US Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, claimed partial responsibility for clandestinely selling weapons to Iran and channeling profits to Contras in Nicaragua

Oliver Laurence “Ollie” North (born 1943-10-07) is a former United States Marine Corps lieutenant colonel, author, and host of War Stories with Oliver North on Fox News. As a National Security Council staff member, he formulated part of a plan involving the clandestine sale of weapons to Iran and diverting the proceeds to Contra rebel groups in Nicaragua.
