Nippur (Sumerian: Nibru, often logographically recorded as š’‚—š’†¤š’† , EN.LƍLKI, ["Enlil City;" Akkadian: Nibbur) was a Sumerian city located in modern Nuffar in Afak, Al-Qādisiyyah Governorate, Iraq. It was the special seat of the cult of the Sumerian god Enlil.
