Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas

2004 animated Disney film directed by Matthew O'Callaghan

Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas is a computer-animated direct-to-video movie on VHS and DVD made by The Walt Disney Company in 2004. It is the sequel to Mickey's Once Upon a Christmas from 1999. The segments in this video feature Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy, Max, Donald Duck, Huey, Dewey and Louie, and Scrooge McDuck in five different segments. Along with the Mickey's PhilharMagic theme park attraction, this production was one of the first to depict the Mickey Mouse series characters with 3D computer animation.

  • [first lines] It was the night before Christmas, and all through the house...oh, wait, different story, but we'll still see a mouse. [the movie's title appears] Put those old Christmas classics back up on the shelves; we've got new tales of giving, and loving, and elves.
  • [ending "Belles on Ice"] When these best friends were fighting, the show was a flop...but when they danced together, they came out on top.
  • [ending "Christmas: Impossible"] They started out selfish, those rascally brothers, but made Christmas magic by thinking of others.
  • [ending "Christmas Maximus"] When a father and son end up miles apart, they can see eye-to-eye...when they act heart-to-heart.
  • [ending "Donald's Gift"] Our duck faced the music and found his own beat. He sang from his heart, making Christmas complete.
  • [last lines] So, at last, Mickey learned what he'd missed from the start. Bells and holly mean little without friends in your heart. The magic of Christmas has its rhyme and its reason. We hope you and yours have a most joyous season.

Dialogue

[After Minnie accidentally fell onto the ice during her best performance]
Daisy: [skates up to Minnie] Are you okay?
Minnie: I think so.
Daisy: [takes off her tiara; regretfully] What was I thinking?
Minnie: [gasps] What were we thinking?
Daisy: I'm so sorry. [helps up Minnie as the spotlight shines on them] Friends?
Minnie: [puts Daisy's tiara back on her head] Best friends. And...finale?
Daisy: [smiles] Grand finale!
[They hug]

[After the nephews were revealed that they had eaten Scrooge's homemade chocolate chip cookies before dinner]
Donald: Boys! How could you?!
Huey: Hey, aren't we innocent into proven guilty?
Donald: NO! [Daisy and the nephews gasp] You three march right upstairs! NOW!
[The nephews got out of their chairs]
Daisy: I'm sure the cookies were delicious, Uncle Scrooge.
Huey: They were.
[Donald lunges at his nephews, who ran upstairs to their bedroom, but was held back by Daisy and Scrooge]
Scrooge: Don't make a big deal out of nothing.
Donald: [angrily] Let me go!
Scrooge: Listen! I'll go talk to them.
[Later, Scrooge knocks on their bedroom door outside]
Dewey: [bored] Come in.
Scrooge: [enters] Boys? I want to tell you something important.
Dewey: Did you make us more cookies? [Scrooge glares at them] Nah, that might send the wrong message.

Daisy: Ready to go, Donald?
Donald: Where?
Daisy: To the mall.
Huey, Dewey, Louie: Duh!
Dewey: Don't you want to see the Christmas window at Mousey's?
Huey: And smell all that greasy food at the food court?
Louie: And wander around aimlessly looking for the perfect gift?
Donald: All I want, is peace and quiet. And my hot chocolate.
Daisy: Don't be such a big old grump. [slashes him with a chair]
Donald: Whoa!
Daisy: Christmas is the time to be with family and friends and the people who love you. Come on.
Donald: [rudely] You go, I stay.
Daisy: Stop being so selfish!
Donald: [mocking] Quack quack quack! [Daisy gasps and the nephews are worried] I'm not going, and that's final!
Daisy: Hmmm... [cut to them inside the mall] Don't dawdle, Donald.

Dewey: Let's see. [checking the man's watch]
Man: [startled as he accidentally spilt some of his hot chocolate on his white shirt] Ow!
Donald: Hey! I'm sorry! [sniffs] Is that hot chocolate?
Man: Very hot!

[After Donald was caught for incidentally destroying the Christmas display at Mousey's in front of the audience, even Daisy and his nephews]
Dewey: Uncle Donald?
Woman: He's your uncle?!
Dewey: [lying] Him? Uh-uh. I've never seen him before. [hugs a man next to him] This is my uncle.
Man: [gets spilt by hot chocolate again] OH! WHAT ARE THE ODDS?! [leaves]
Donald: [pleadingly] Boys, please! I can explain!
Daisy: [solemnly] This is a new low. Even for you. Come on, boys. [leaves with the boys]
Louie: What was he thinking?
[Then the security guard grabs Donald by the neck, and takes him to the alley]
Security Guard: I hope you're happy! [throw Donald into the snow] For crying out loud, where's your Christmas spirit?! [throws Donald's hat on his head and shuts the door]

[Donald is walking alone on the snowy sidewalk very sadly, after the incident]
Daisy: [in memory] Donald, stop being so selfish.
Donald: Oh.
Security Guard: [in memory] For crying out loud, where's your Christmas spirit?!
Donald: Ooohh! [crawling on the snow, regretfully]
Dewey: [in memory] No, I've never seen him before.
Donald: Oohhh!
Louie: [in false memory] He blew us off for a beverage?
Daisy: [in memory] Christmas is the time to be with family and friends and the people who love you. [echoes]

Donald: I'm sorry, Daisy. Merry Christmas?
Daisy: Merry Christmas, you big old grump.
Donald: Everybody, from the heart!

Mickey: [to Pluto] Who's my pal? Who's my pal?

Minnie: [on the phone; worried] Mickey, is everything all right over there? [the lamp falls on the floor, cracking into pieces] Mickey?
Mickey: Just perfect. I got to go. [hangs up; turns to Pluto, angrily] Pluto, Look at this mess. I had the perfect party and now it's the perfect disaster. Christmas is ruined! [checks his watch] Well, if I really hurry, I suppose I can get to St. Knickknacks Megamall, before closing.

Blitzen: Remember, now. Easy on the grub. We've all read the story. We're supposed to be eight tiny reindeer. [glances at a very chubby Cupid]
Cupid: What?
[Blitzen pulls the handle, and the machine pours the whole grain into the metal trough, causing the reindeer to groan]
Donner: [groaning] Oh, man! Grain again! [outside, Pluto gets sucked into the grain silo; cut back to inside] I'm so hungry, I could eat a horse. [suddenly Pluto lands on top of the grain; causing the reindeer to stop groaning] But not a dog.

Donner: Brace yourselves for genius. There can only be one name for this dog. Wanna hear it?
Blitzen: No.
Donner: Murray!
Reindeers: [confused] Murray?
Donner: You know, as in "Murray Christmas"?
Blitzen: Oh, my head.

Mickey: [finishes redecorating the living room] Well, I don't need my sunglasses, but it'll do. Hmm, something's missing. [notices the star is not on the tree] Oh yeah! [remembers how he yelled at Pluto] Oh, yeah. [walks outside slowly to Pluto's doghouse carrying the star] Uh...hey, pal. I finished decorating. Well...almost. There's just one thing left. [gets no response] Aw come on, Pluto. Who's my pal? Who's my pal? [no response] Pal? Buddy? [goes inside the doghouse] Hello? [gasps as he discovers Pluto is gone and has left his collar behind; then he sees Pluto's paw prints in the snow leading to the sidewalk] Oh no.

[Pluto is chasing a squirrel around the stable in front of the reindeers]
Donner: I've never seen so many toys scattered!
Blitzen: That barn came out of nowhere! Murray! Who let that dog out?!
[But Pluto accidentally knocks over the Christmas tree]
Donner: Oh, Murray. What do you think, those ornaments grow on trees? [Pluto whimpers] Well... [opens the door to reveal more Christmas trees outside] They do!
[Other reindeers laugh at Donner's joke]
Blitzen: [sarcastically] Oh, yeah, that never gets old.

Santa: [after returning from the department store] I believe Pluto's homesick.
Donner: Oh. [to Blitzen] Who's Pluto?
Blitzen: I think he's Murray.
Donner: Murray's Pluto?
Blitzen: Bingo.
Donner: Bingo's Pluto?
Blitzen: [beat] I - Yes.

Mickey: What are you guys doing here?
Daisy: We're here to help you to find Pluto.
[Pluto pops out of the snow]
Huey, Louie and Dewey: We found him! Yeah!
Minnie: Oh Mickey, we were so worried!
Mickey: Come on, everybody. Let's go inside.
