Katie Nicholson is a Senior Reporter at CBC. She is a Canadian Screen Award-winning investigative journalist. She has covered everything from wildfires, floods and hurricanes, to papal funerals and the United States Nicholson has also reported extensively on intimate partner violence, sexual harassment, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls and child welfare. She is currently based in Toronto. Nicholson was named best local reporter at the 2019 Canadian Screen Awards for breaking the story that former New Democratic Party (NDP) cabinet minister Stan Struthers had inappropriately touched women for years — and that it was an open secret within the party and among staff, who nicknamed him "Minister Tickles" behind his back.
