Jin Jing

Chinese fencer

Jin Jing (Chinese: 金晶; Pinyin: Jīn Jīng; born 1981) is a Chinese female Paralympic fencer. She is notable as a torchbearer carrying the Olympic torch during protests against the Chinese Communist Party in Paris, France. Since then she has become a propaganda instrument and a rallying point for Chinese nationalists.

  • Local police were separated for me for a moment when activists began to disturb the relay. I was attacked three times. The most terrible moment was when three or four men came to rob the torch, but I couldn't give up. As a torchbearer, that's my duty.
