Summary

The area of London where UK film premieres take place. With loads of cinemas. This is a statue of William Shakespeare at the centre of Leicester Square Gardens in Leicester Square. The statue is surrounded by dolphins, which are rumoured to be symbols of wisdom and knowledge. It contains an inscription from the Shakespeare play Twelfth Night - "There is no darkness but ignorance". The statues plinth contains a message about the purchase of Leicester Fields, which was bought by Albert Crant and turned into Leicester Square, making it a public space for everybody to enjoy. |
