The Seal of the Confederacy (replica). The Congress of the CSA passed a Joint resolution to establish a seal for the Confederate States on April 30, 1863: The seal was made in London by Joseph Shepherd Wyon (1836-1873), Chief Engraver of the Seals (and nephew of Thomas Wyon), in 1864. The seal arrived in Richmond in 1865, but the press never made it, so it was never used to officially seal any documents. |
