Dear Lulu, I got the adoption papers from the Army today. Riley would be so proud. Maybe even of both of us. Look, I'm no good at this poem stuff, so I'll just get to the damn point. Thanks. Thanks for saving my life.

What're you looking at? Let's not make this... all emotional, okay?

Briggs is visiting a fellow Ranger veteran who adopted Lulu's brother Nuke]
Briggs: So you're telling me that Nuke was just as messed-up as Lulu?
Noah: I had to work him 6 months before I convinced the Army to let me adopt him out. Thought we'd never get there. But now? We trust Nuke to babysit. Kids, burgers! [drops one and picks it up]
Noah's Daughter: Daddy, was this on the ground?
Noah: No.
Noah's Daughter: You're lying, I saw it fall.
Noah: Baby, I dropped it into my hand, okay? It's fine, you're fine.
Noah's Daughter: Uhhh!
Briggs: I can barely take care of the dog, so, I don't know how you're doing all this.
Noah: Yeah, I get it. Nuke was about all I could handle. But, when he stopped struggling, that's when I realized maybe I could stop struggling too, you know?
Briggs: You think Riley could've fixed Lulu?
Noah: Not by keeping her in the fight, no. You gotta know when to hang 'em up or check out, I guess.
Briggs: Sometimes Rangers just find a way to die, man.

[Briggs starts to leave Lulu at the White Sands Missile Range, but comes back after seeing her struggling with the MP's]
Briggs: I should've put her vest on her; she listens more when the vest is on. [brings Lulu back to his truck] You know girls and their fashion. I'll be right back.
M.P.: Sir- you forgot your I.D.
Briggs: Uh... You know what, man? Just keep it. Thank you for your service. [looks at Lulu as he starts to drive off, removing the muzzle the MP's put on her] What're you looking at? Let's not make this... all emotional, okay?
