Dave Brat
American economist and professor at Randolph–Macon College
David Alan Brat (July 27, 1964) is an American academic and politician who is the dean of the Liberty University School of Business. A member of the Republican Party, he served as the U.S. representative for Virginia's 7th congressional district from 2014 to 2019. He defeated Eric Cantor for the Republican Party nomination to the seat, becoming the first primary challenger to unseat a House Majority Leader since 1899. He was defeated by Democratic Party candidate Abigail Spanberger in 2018.
