Clayton Williams

Clayton Williams (born October 8, 1931 - February 14, 2020) is an American businessman and philanthropist from Midland who ran for Governor of Texas in the Texas gubernatorial election of 1990. Despite securing the Republican nomination and initially leading in the polls against Democratic challenger Texas State Treasurer Ann Richards by twenty points, Williams ultimately lost the race.
