Aron Nimzowitsch

Latvian-born Danish chess player and theoretician

Aron Nimzowitsch (Latvian: Ārons Ņimcovičs; born Aron Niemzowitsch and also known as Aaron Nimzovich) (7 November 188616 March 1935) was a Latvian-born Danish unofficial chess grandmaster and a very influential chess writer. He wrote a number of pioneering books: My System, The Blockade, and Chess Praxis. He was one of the foremost figures amongst the hypermoderns.
