Iris: You've already paid for one night. Trust me. This place will grow on you.

Countess: Messes are always forgiven. The first time.

John Lowe: What can you tell me about the people that come in and out of this place? They mostly residents or transients?
Liz Taylor: Oh, we got a bit of everything. Some pay by the month, some pay by the hour. Some of the old-timers have been here since the dawn of time. And you? Who are you looking for?
John Lowe: Not at liberty to say.
Liz Taylor: Oh, I don't mean that. I can see the pain in your eyes. It's very familiar. Oh, you've lost something. And now you're frozen in time. Can't move forward. Can't go back.

Hypodermic Sally: Do you really need to be so aggressive? Can't you have some compassion?
Iris: You get the hell out of here. You don't give a shit about these girls.
Hypodermic Sally: And you do? I've seen what your caring looks like. We've all seen it.
Iris: At least I care about something.

Hypodermic Sally: [to the captive Swedish tourists] Do you know what this room used to be? This old dude used to put on a puppet show right there. Marionettes, strings, for entertainment. And now you are going to entertain me. Move me with your tears. Run. RUN!

Will Drake: I walk through New York streets and I don't hear the music anymore. No more echos of who I was there. Blocks are toppled, history erased, weirdoes banished. This place is far enough away that it speaks to me-- it sings, even.

Countess Elizabeth: I lived in New York, many years ago. I loved roaming the streets, devouring the pulse of the city. Electrifying. I miss it very much.
Tristan: What was your favorite time?
Countess: Every decade has its decadence period. That's when I'm most alive.

Countess: It isn't who you kill or who you screw. It's the heartbreaks. The bigger, the better.

John Lowe: I can't help but wonder how come--
Hypodermic Sally: How come a girl like me ends up with tracks in her arms living in this dump?
John Lowe: That's one way to put it.
Hypodermic Sally: Patti Smith said that my poems were like glass shattering. I wrote a song with her. And then she wrote me off.
John Lowe: Why? 'Cause of the smack?
Hypodermic Sally: Getting high used to be like how you imagine heaven. Pure light. The perfection of it all. Even in me. Then I got lost. Kept trying to climb higher. Get closer to that light. Like an endless ladder where all you do is get further and further away. There's a part of you that wants to get lost, am I right? Climb that ladder.

James March: Oh. Bolivian marching powder. Too tame for my taste.
Tristan Duffy: I've tried it all, man. There is nothing better.
James March: You know. In your black heart of hearts, you know. You're just like me.
Tristan Duffy: I don't think so, dude.
James March: Well, I had it all once. Fortune, fame. But nothing satisfied. "To thine own self be true." Polonius. I'll show you what you've been dreaming of.

James March: My father was a true believer. Ate the little cracker and drank the wine every Sunday. And he was the meanest son of a bitch you've ever seen. Kill a cat for purring too loud. You want me to tell you the worst thing in this world? Religion. That and regulations.
Man: God is in my heart so I know there is always hope.
James March: You think there is hope now? You think God is going to protect you from the head of this hammer? Or the six floors you're about to fall?
Man: As long as there is a God, men like you can kill thousands, millions, but you will never find peace.
James March: [laughs] Well then, I guess I'm just going to have to kill God. That is my message to the world.
Tristan Duffy: You're the greatest serial killer who's ever lived.
James March: How do you know all this?
Tristan Duffy: I Googled you.
James March: That sounds obscene.

Alex Lowe: By the way, I'm not unaware of the obvious cliche here-- I wanted to save kids because I felt I needed saving. But in my case the cliche is dead on. Suffice it to say, mine was not a happy childhood. Then Holden showed up. It was a tectonic shift where everything I thought I knew about myself got rearranged. It was like I finally fell in love for real. All the cracks and missing pieces came together. I felt whole. I'd found my soul mate. I couldn't stop smelling his head. It made me feel drowsy and giddy, like we were in the middle of a lavender field in the south of France. The smell was real. He truly smelled like fresh lavender. It was and always will be my drug of choice. I even wondered if I truly loved John, because my feelings for him were never as powerful as my feelings for Holden. And I've always felt guilty because I never quite bonded like that with Scarlett when she was a baby. It was a special kind of love. Maybe a once in a lifetime thing. And then he disappeared.

Hypodermic Sally: We are going total bye-bye, right? You swear you don't have any unfinished business here? Because I am stuck in this place, thanks to you, so I want to be one 100% sure that when I do this, I am done with your miserable old ass. In other words, don't haunt my hallways, bitch.
Iris: I want nothing more than the dark silence of death itself
Hypodermic Sally: Well, you've come to the right girl.
Countess: You must have a lot of questions. I have answers. It must have been a shock for you to see your boy. I imagined you lost hope a long time ago.
Alex Lowe: I never gave up.
Countess: Your devotion moved me. I could feel your longing. Holden felt it, too, that's why he came to you.
Alex Lowe: You stole my son.
Countess: I saved him. Like I save all my children.
Alex Lowe: From what?
Countess: Neglect. I could see where they were headed. A tragic, wasted life. I opened my heart and the children came to me willingly.
Alex Lowe: I never neglected my son.
Countess: Can you say the same about your husband?

Countess: The only way you can truly be with Holden is to join him. Alex, I'm offering you eternity with your great lost love. What I wouldn't trade for a chance at that.
Alex Lowe: And what are you asking me to trade for it? What's the price I have to pay to be like you?
Countess: Your undying loyalty. You'll be working for me.

Aileen Wuornos: Sometimes even I think that's true. I wasn't more then four or five when the world started taking from me. You know what you do when all you know is people taking? You start to give, give it away before they can take it from you. Give it all away for free, and that way, you can pretend that it doesn't hurt. Those seven men? We had a deal. We had a deal. They got greedy, started taking things that didn't belong to 'em.

James March: This is my problem with police officers. All you care about is evidence. Evidence, evidence, evidence. Until that evidence no longer fits the narrative you need to be true, at which point the evidence becomes an illusion, a mistake. A trick. You've lived in my hotel long enough, John, seen enough evidence to know that what is impossible becomes very possible here.

John Wayne Gacy: I mean, just because you got 30 bodies buried in your crawlspace doesn't mean you can't have a really terrific rec room and be a respectable business man.
Liz Taylor: I suppose it would be a little awkward with all that paparazzi around and you being so... camera shy, as it were.
Countess: Have the flowers delivered by Wednesday morning.
Liz Taylor: You're kidding, right? Bitch, do you honestly think I would lift a finger to help you with your wedding after what you did?
Countess: Tristan never loved you. He didn't know how to love.
Liz Taylor: You didn't know him! At all! He did love me. You may have taken him away, but I will not let you take that. Buy your own damn flowers.
Liz Taylor: If you want to feel the magic of cause and effect you have to have a purpose.

Billie Dean Howard: What the hell are you? You're not dead.
Ramona Royale: I'm a creature who kills to live and who drinks a body's worth of blood a day and doesn't think twice about who I'm sucking it from. So if you even let out a whisper of a word that sounds like Cortez I'll find you and drain every drop of life from your skinny ass.
