Wikiquote talk:Quote of the day/October 10

Because of an outrageously EXTENSIVE and concerted attempts made in 2009 to suddenly, summarily and dictatorial revise and apparently TAKE OVER the QOTD selection and archiving process, without ANY prior consultation or seeking of consensus on the matter, this page was protected from editing, and I thus cannot currently edit it or move it back to its PROPER designation as Wikiquote:Quote of the day/October 10, 2009.

To retain the aesthetic quality of the presentation pages I would suggest the page be altered to replace an image deleted at the commons to display in this form:

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world's population.
For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world's leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama's appeal that "Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges."

~ The Norwegian Nobel Committee on the Nobel Peace Prize of 2009 ~

I must soon be leaving again, but should be back within a few hours and would also suggest that within the next few days ALL the unauthorized and DISRUPTIVE moves previously made to MANY of the similar QOTD pages for the year 2009 be reversed, and they RESTORED to their proper places as pages for 2009 and NOT the generic DATES of the month, and including the measure that their protection removed or reduced to normal levels, so that they can be edited in normal fashion, when images are deleted at the commons. ~ Kalki·· 23:29, 7 March 2012 (UTC) + tweaksReply
