Merran Esson
Merran Esson (1950–2022) was an Australian ceramicist. Growing up in country New South Wales, she was influenced by her childhood observations of the clash of humans and nature. Over her career she experimented extensively with colour and enjoyed the problem-solving process associated with firing clay. Water tanks featured heavily in her work and the patina created on them from use and the passage of time.

Quotes

- Esson shared these remarks during an interview with Sarah Sweet on Artist Profile.
