  • Copy Information: Available from the William Blake Archive's record
  • Object History: Acquired, probably directly from Blake in 1796, by Ozias Humphry; apparently lent by Humphry to George Cumberland, who added the pen and ink inscriptions; bequeathed by Humphry to his son, William Upcott, in 1810; sold after Upcott's death at Evans, the London auction house, 15 June 1846, lot 277, with The Large Book of Designs copy A and The Small Book of Designs copy A "inserted," and with America a Prophecy copy H in the same lot (£7.2s.6d. to the dealer R. H. Evans); possibly acquired by Francis Turner Palgrave; acquired by the British Museum on 25 June 1859.
  • Medium: Relief and white-line etching with color printing and hand coloring.
  • Original Size: 36.0 x 25.7 cm
