DescriptionEarnest V. Starr.jpg
English: This is the mug shot of E. V. Starr, arrested in Montana in 1918 for saying of the flag of the United States of America, "What is this thing anyway? Nothing but a piece of cotton with a little paint on it, and some other marks in the corner there. I will not kiss that thing. It might be covered with microbes." Saying this was considered sedition.
This image is in the public domain in the United States as it was a mugshot taken in 1918.
