English: The work comes from the old Cathedral of Bahia. It represents Saint John of the Cross and Saint Teresa in the hall of the Monastery of the Incarnation in Avila talking about the mystery of the Holy Trinity, when suddenly they fall in ecstasy with the vision. Next to Santa Teresa is, possibly, Beatriz de Ahumada.
Português: A obra é proveniente da antiga Sé da Bahia. Representa Santa Teresa e São João da Cruz, no locutório do Mosteiro da Encarnação em Ávila conversando sobre o mistério da Santíssima Trindade, quando, subitamente, caem em êxtase com a visão. Ao lado de Santa Teresa está, possivelmente, Beatriz de Ahumada.
