Trimmed images

edit

I've trimmed the page from four (4) images to simply two. No need for the other images that are not relevant and detract from the quote itself, which should be the focus of the page.

Reduced image size

edit

Reduced size of images to more standard 200px image.

They were both sized way too large.

Now they look much better on the Main Page and don't detract from the quote, itself.

The function of the university is not simply to teach bread-winning, or to furnish teachers for the public schools or to be a centre of polite society; it is, above all, to be the organ of that fine adjustment between real life and the growing knowledge of life, an adjustment which forms the secret of civilization.

I am posting the original layout here, so that what I perceive to be the extreme asininity, ignorance and arrogance of the above mentioned actions, and their ostensible motivations can be more clearly gauged by their actual effects, and so that various contrasts and comparisons can be more easily made by people who are not quite so ignorant or arrogant in regard to many of the actually relevant and significant issues as to artistic layouts and various "routine" procedures of various forms of censorship and suppression, within various social, unsocial and antisocial processes, in the coming weeks and months. ~ Kalki·· 21:30, 23 February 2014 (UTC)Reply
