Dialogue

[translated from German]

Klaus Schmidt: Understand this, Erik... These Nazis, I'm not like them. Genes are the key, yes? But their goals? Blue eyes? Blonde hair? Pathetic. [he gives him a chocolate bar] Eat the chocolate. It's good. Want some?

Erik Lehnsherr: I want to see my mama.

Klaus Schmidt: Genes are the key that unlocks the door to a new age, Erik. A new future for mankind. Evolution. You know what I'm talking about? It's a simple thing I ask of you. [gestures to a small Nazi coin on the desk] A little coin is nothing compared to a big gate. Is it? [Erik attempts to move the coin but fails]

Erik Lehnsherr: I tried, Herr Doctor. I can't... I don't... It's impossible. [this displeases Schmidt]

Klaus Schmidt: The one thing I can say for the Nazis is their methods seem to produce results. I'm sorry, Erik. [rings bell to summon the Nazi soldiers who come in with his mother]

Erik Lehnsherr: Mama!

Mother: My darling. [she embraces him and speaks in a hushed voice] How are you?

Klaus Schmidt: [he gestures to the soldiers to hold her back] Here's what we're going to do. I'm going to count to three... [he opens a drawer and pulls out a gun] ...and you're going to move the coin. You don't move the coin, I pull the trigger. [he points the gun at his mother] Understand? [Erik attempts to move it again without success with a sense of urgency] One.

Erik Lehnsherr: [he looks to his mother] Mama.

Mother: You can do it.

Klaus Schmidt: Two. [he grows impatient]

Mother: Everything is alright. [Erik concentrates even harder]

Klaus Schmidt: Three. [he shoots and kills Erik's mother which traumatizes him. He becomes very angry and crushes a small metal bell which greatly pleases Schmidt] Yes. Wonderful. [Erik crushes the metal filing cabinet which greatly pleases Schmidt as well] Excellent.

[Erik then loses control and crushes the soldiers' helmets on their heads and begins to send every metal object in the near examination room to go flying all across the room in complete disarray which cause Schmidt to become rather excited. Erik then begins to break into tears while Schmidt consoles him]

Klaus Schmidt: Outstanding, Erik. So we unlock your gift with anger. Anger and pain. You and me... we're going to have a lot of fun together. [he leaves the Nazi coin in Erik's hand and he leaves]

Charles Xavier: [after being introduced to Hank McCoy] How wonderful, another mutant already here. [To Man in Black Suit] Why didn't you say anything?

Man in Black Suit: Say what?

Charles Xavier: [Realising] Because you don't know. [To Hank, embarrassed] I am so terribly sorry.

Man in Black Suit: Hank?

Hank McCoy/Beast: You didn't ask, so I didn't tell.

Charles Xavier: You have a chance to become a part of something much bigger than yourself.

Erik Lehnsherr: What do you know about me?

Charles Xavier [reads his mind]: Everything.

[Shaw meets a Russian general in Moscow]

Russian General: Hello.

Sebastian Shaw: Once again, my sympathies for your treatment at the hands of the CIA.

Russian General: These Americans are ruthless.

Sebastian Shaw: Now they have their missiles placed in Turkey... I expect you'll be planning new missile sites of your own. Somewhere you know the American early-warning system won't help. I hear Cuba is lovely this time of year. And so close to Florida.

Russian General: Missiles in Cuba? You're serious? We may as well declare war.

Sebastian Shaw: Maybe I wasn't clear enough. You will make this happen.

Russian General: Okay. Let's see what KGB think about this. [he picks up the phone] Hello? General Armivolkoff. [the rest of the Hellfire Club appears] It's nothing. [he hangs up and meets their demands]

Charles Xavier: Listen to me very carefully, my friend: Killing Shaw will not bring you peace.

Erik Lehnsherr: Peace was never an option.

[A young Charles Xavier investigates a noise in his home]

Charles Xavier: Mother! What are you...? I thought you were a burglar.

Mrs. Xavier: I didn't mean to scare, you darling. I was just getting a snack. Go back to bed. [Charles stays, looking suspicious] What's the matter? Go on, back to bed. I... I'll make you a hot chocolate--

Charles Xavier: [sternly] Who are you? And what have you done with my mother? [telepathically in her mind] My mother has never set foot in this kitchen in her life. And she certainly never made me a hot chocolate. Unless you count ordering the maid to do it.

[Mrs. Xavier nervously changes form, revealing a naked, blue-skinned little girl; Charles smiles]

Raven Darkholme: You're not... scared of me?

Charles Xavier: I always knew I couldn't be the only one in the world. The only one who was... different. And here you are. [holds out his hand] Charles Xavier.

Raven Darkholme: [hesitantly shakes it] Raven.

Charles Xavier: You're hungry and alone. Take whatever you want. We've got lots of food. You don't have to steal. In fact, you never have to steal again.

[Raven smiles happily]

Hank McCoy: You have no idea what I'd give to feel...

Raven Darkholme: Normal?

Charles Xavier: We have it in us to be the better man.

Erik Lehnsherr: We already are.

[Eric and Charles walk into a bar and approach Logan as he is smoking a cigar]

Eric Lehnsherr: Excuse me, I'm Eric Lehnsherr.

Charles Xavier: Charles Xavier.

Logan: Go fuck yourselves.

Armando Munez: Where to, fellas?

Erik Lehnsherr: Richmond, Virginia.

Darwin: So, you want the airport, the station, what?

Charles Xavier: We were rather hoping you'd take us..... all the way.

Darwin: That's a six-hour drive.

Erik Lehnsherr: That would give us plenty of time to talk.

[Erik drops the cab's meter]

[Mystique stands naked before Charles in the kitchen, just like when they first met]

Mystique: You know, sometimes I wonder what my life would've been like if you haven't found me here that night.

Charles Xavier: Sorry what, you... [sees her and averts his eyes] Yaah! God's sake, Raven, where are your clothes? Pu... put... put some clothes on--

Mystique: That's not what you said when you first saw me. But I guess pets are always cuter when they're little, right?

Charles Xavier: Raven, I don't know what's gotten into you lately. I swear, you've been in a good mood. Hank, he tells me that he has found the answer to your cosmetic... [slight pause] problem. You gotta tell me what's the matter, or I'll have to read your mind.

Mystique: [looking deeply hurt] You promised me you would never do that.

Charles Xavier: Until recently, I never had to use my powers to know what you were thinking, Raven.

Mystique: [angrily] You know Charles, I used to think it was gonna be you and me against the world. But no matter how bad the world gets, you don't wanna be against it, do you? You want to be part of it. [leaves]

[After Hank's cure instead enhances his mutation, turning him into a blue-furred beast]

Erik Lehnsherr: [pats him on the shoulder] You've never looked better--

Hank McCoy: [snarls and grabs Erik by the neck] Don't mock me!

Erik Lehnsherr: [after Hank is persuaded to put him down] I wasn't.

Sean Cassidy: You like fish, I like fish too. Maybe we should get a bite sometimes, talk about it.

Girl: I'd rather go out with the fish.

[After Moira, Charles and Erik found Raven and the others are drunk, dancing to loud music and showing off their powers]

Moira MacTaggert: What are you doing?! Who destroyed the statue?

Hank McCoy: It was Alex.

Mystique: No. Havock! We have to call him Havock. That's his name now. And we were thinking, [pointing to Charles] you should be Professor X and [pointing to Erik] you should be Magneto.

Erik Lehnsherr: [sarcastically] Exceptional.

[After Raven and the other saw them that they weren't pleased, Moira leaves and Erik follows her.]

Charles Xavier: [to Raven] I expect more from you!

[Charles leaves.]

[Erik sees Sebastian Shaw in the void]

Sebastian Shaw: Erik, what a pleasant surpirse. So good to see you again. [Erik enters the void] May I ask you something? Why are you on their side? Why fight for a doomed race who will hunt us down as soon as they realize their reign is coming to an end? [Erik punches him in the face but their is molecular distortion to his face due to all the nuclear energy harnessed] I'm sorry for what happened in the camps. I truely am. [he shoves Erik backwards causing the wall of the void to crack] But everything I did, I did for you. To unlock your power. To make you embrace it. [shoves him across to another wall causing is to break] You've come a long way from bending gates. I'm so proud of you. [lunges metal pillars in front of him to block him] And your just starting to scratch the surface. Think of how much further we could go, together. [he walks through the pillars with much ease and presses one of them against Erik and get closer to his face] I don't want to hurt you, Erik. I never did. I want to help you. This is our time. Our age. We are the future of the human race. You and me, son. This world could be ours.

Erik Lehnsherr: Everything you did made me stronger, it made me the weapon I am today. It's the truth. I've known it all along. You are my creator.

[Shaw is frozen under Charles's mind control and Erik puts on Shaw's helmet]

Erik Lehnsherr: If you're in there, I'd like you to know that with every word you said. We are the future. But unfortunately, you killed my mother. [he pulls out the Nazi coin he gave him so long ago] This is what we're going to do. I'm going to count to three, and I'm going to move the coin. [he slowly lunges the coin at his head] One. [It gets closer and closer] Two. Three. [the coin penetrates his skull and shoots through his head, killing Shaw]

[Erik stops the missiles from hitting all of them but instead redirects them at the naval ships]

Charles Xavier: Erik, you said yourself, we're the better man. This is the time to prove it. There are thousands of men on those ships - good, honest, innocent men! They're just following orders--

Erik Lehnsherr: I've been at the mercy of men "just following orders". Never again. [he sends the missiles shooting off towards the naval ships]

[Erik pulls the bullet out of Charles's back after he accidentally redirects it from Moira to Charles]

Erik Lehnsherr: I'm so sorry. I said back off! [he orders the X-Men] You. You did this. [he begins to choke Moira withe her metal dog tags]

Charles Xavier: Wait. She didn't do this, Erik. You did.[Erik releases Moira]

Erik Lehnsherr: Us turning on each other. It's what they want. I tried to warn you, Charles. I want you on my side. We're brothers, you and I. All of us, together, protecting each other. We want the same thing.

Charles Xavier: Oh, my friend. I'm sorry, but we do not.

[Erik addresses the other mutants on the beach]

Erik Lehnsherr: This society won't accept us. We form our own. The humans have played their hand. Now we get ready to play ours. Who's with me? [looks to Mystique] No more hiding.

Charles Xavier: [she kneels by Charles] You should go with him. It's what you want.

Mystique: You promised me you'd never read my mind.

Charles Xavier: I've promised you a great many things, I'm afraid. I'm sorry.

Mystique: [to Moira] Take care of him. [she goes and stands next to Erik and Riptide, Azazel, and Angel all join as well] Hey, Beast! Never forget - mutant and proud! [they disappear]

[Erik goes to CIA facility to break out Emma Frost]

Erik Lehnsherr: I know we've had our differences.

Emma Frost: Where's your telepath friend?

Erik Lehnsherr: Gone. Left a bit of a gap in my life, if I am to be honest. I was rather hoping you could fill it. Join us.

Emma Frost: [she notices the rest of the Brotherhood] Erik, I believe?

Erik Lehnsherr: I prefer... Magneto.
