Then spoke the thunder
DA.

~ T. S. Eliot ~

I am currently removing recently added date links from individual Quote of the day suggestion pages, as they flood the Month pages such as Wikiquote:Quote of the day/November with 30-31 links to individual Turkish date pages - which are neither necessary nor helpful. ~ Lightning 14:26, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Whoa, friend! I think there's a better way to deal with this problem. Let's wrap the day pages' interwiki links with noinclude tags, like so:
<noinclude>[[tr:Eylül 17]]</noinclude>
Then each QotD month page could include one set of its own interwiki links without these tags (if it doesn't already). ~ Jeff Q (talk) 16:40, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for the advice. I will begin using that code, instead of deleting the links. ~ Lightning 16:48, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Please take a look at what I did with April 1, which does the trick. It incorporates an easily spotted "interwiki" comment block to lead editors to insert other interwiki links where they need to be. Thanks. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 16:50, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
By the way, these links do have some usefulness. We often get untranslated or poorly translated quotes that are just copied from other Wikiquotes, so it's often quite handy to be able to jump to the non-English article to attempt to fix the problem. I don't know that that comes up with any frequency in the Quote of the Day pages (I'm not a frequent QotD participant), but it's worth including as long as we've fixed the absurdity you uncovered. Thanks for your work on this! ~ Jeff Q (talk) 16:55, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply
