My name is Simon Peter Hughes and I come from England. I was born in 1973 in Stratford-upon-Avon, the hometown of William Shakespeare. I studied French and Spanish at the University of Bradford between 1991 and 1995 and gained an MA in English language teaching from the University of Warwick in 1997. I have been teaching English as a foreign language since 1997. I have lived and worked in Turkey, Poland and Japan. Since 2003 I have been living in a small village in northern Taiwan and teaching English to children in a small private language school.
I discovered Wikipedia in 2006 and got up the courage to become a registered editor a few months later. I have edited the simple english and French Wikipedias. I have made significant contributions to the Spanish Wikipedia and won a prize for helping to improve the Esperanto Wikipedia.
I used to edit Uncyclopedia under the username Spews1973 but I lost interest in that site because I found most of it disgusting, offensive and just not funny. I edit other sites hosted by Wikia, Wikitravel, SikhiWiki, the Spaghetti Western Database, WikInfo and Vikidia under the same username that I use here.
