I am a Wikiquote user.

A number of books I have read lately have cited quotes which upon further scrutiny have been hard to find reputable sources for verification. I created this Wikiquote account in an attempt to determine which (if any) of these quotes are correct, which are not, and where the misattributions might have come from.

Dale Carnegie's 'How to Win Friends and Influence People', 1981 Revised edition.

Benjamin Disraeli ‘Talk to people about themselves and they will listen four hours.’ p115

Martin Luther King Jr ‘I judge people by their own principles – not by my own.’ p138

La Rochefoucauld ‘If you want enemies, excel your friends; but if you want friends, let your friends excel you.’ p168
