Thomas Lipton

(1848-1931) British tea merchant and yacht racer

Sir Thomas Johnstone Lipton, Bt, KCVO (10 May 1848 – 2 October 1931) was born in Scotland of Irish parents. He was a self-made man, merchant, and yachtsman, who created the famous Lipton tea brand and was the most persistent challenger in the history of the America's Cup.
