It is intented for any context where you want to discuss the doings of a particular user, typically an anonymous one. It is very quick to type {{user|ExampleUser}} to create the three links and it's very fast for readers to follow the links. I'll add this to Wikiquote:Template messages, although it doesn't nicely fit into any section in that page. This is mainly a maintenance related template for admins and users reporting vandals in WQ:VIP. jni 12:18, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
