The first edition of The Lord of the Rings is out of copyright in the United States. So long as the quotes are taken from the first edition, there is no copyright issue here under U.S. law. 4.152.3.132 17:18, 18 August 2007 (UTC)

- Different strokes for different folks: they illustrate interesting thoughts, ideas, perceptions in the storyline. I would leave it as is, if possible. --Shir-El too 14:21, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
