  • Great job! Not one great quote overlooked.. Great balanced page design. This is the standard of a quote page. It enables a reader to sample and taste and enables discussion. It allows the work to live on for ever.--Oracleofottawa 06:18, 22 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Johnson quote? edit

This is usually attributed to Samuel Johnson:

  • Paradise Lost is a book which, once one puts it down, one finds very hard to pick up again.

True or not? -- JackofOz (talk) 02:28, 25 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

Close. "'Paradise Lost' is one of the books which the reader admires and lays down, and forgets to take up again. None ever wished it longer than it is." You'll find it on the Johnson Wikiquote page. Wgrommel (talk) 23:36, 5 May 2021 (UTC)Reply
