Troubled guest on the dark earth

This quote rang a bell:
"As long as you have not grasped that you have to die to grow, you are a troubled guest on the dark earth."

Apparently, it's attributed to Mircea Eliade in The Little Book of Romanian Wisdom. It's very similar to the last line of the poem "The Holy Longing" by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and translated by Robert Bly:
"And so long as you haven't experienced this: to die and so to grow, you are only a troubled guest on the dark earth."

I suspect the quote in this article is a different translation from German. Could the person who added this quote show more proof that this is Eliade's quote? DBlomgren 14:38, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

I agree that this seems to be the case — and will move this quote to a "Misattributed" section, unless significant evidence can be presented that it is not actually a misattribution to Eliade, who perhaps had been quoting Goethe in some work. ~ ♞☮♌Kalki·†·⚓⊙☳☶⚡ 15:53, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
