Talk:L. Frank Baum

This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the L. Frank Baum page.

Quotations moved from Wikipedia entry edit

I've moved a number of quotations here from w:L. Frank Baum. I'm a wikiquote newbie, and I hope I've got the formatting right: in particular, I'm unsure about the formatting for sections of dialogue (which I had to do with a lot of <br>s in order to keep the bulleting lined up). I also wasn't sure about some of the divisions of quotations: I tried to make them logical, but if there's a more standard format I hope a wikiquote expert can polish. (I also don't know whether I was right to put the dying words under "Attributed", since they were presumably spoken — a biography of Baum would probably provide an adequate citation if one is needed, but I don't have immediate access to one.)

Anyway, over to you lot. —Josiah Rowe 21:18, 21 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Derivative works edit

Books:The Lost King of Oz , The Gnome King of Oz , The Giant Horse of Oz , Jack Pumkinhead of Oz , Handy Mandy in Oz , The Wishing Horse of Oz , The Wonder City of Oz

The derivative works mentioned above are not by L. Frank Baum, and are not relevant to an article about the person. ~ Ningauble (talk) 15:46, 7 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Oz to Tin Man edit

And remember, my sentimental friend, that a heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others

This was basically made the core message of "Steam Works of Oz" and credited to Baum but I can't seem to locate it in the books. Anyone able to fine the book/page perhaps on Google Books?

I checked ch 15 and ch 16 when he gets the heart but can't see it there.

This might exclusively appear when Frank Morgan portrayed Oz in the 1939 movie adaptation? Did Baum even write it at all?
