Talk:English proverbs (alphabetically by proverb)

This is an extensive article, and the call for clean-up is pretty general. Is there an appetite for a structured approach to the clean-up effort? I'm thinking:
1 Internal formatting in the edit view (E.g. Every proverb spaced with a hard return for readability)
2 External minor formatting (E.g. Every instance of "Meaning:" italicized or not.)
3 Spelling/Grammar in editorial text (notes, meanings)
4 Spelling/Grammar in actual proverbs (Takes more effort to be sure. e.g. I just changed "A good mind possesses a kingdom, from "possess")
5 More substantive changes to meanings. (E.g. there are a lot of "bad things ... good things" in the meanings. I changed the March winds and April showers entry to be a bit more applicable, but they are more substantive changes which could be controversial.)
6 Concerted effort to add meanings to all or most proverbs.

There is extensive discussion about cleaning up the main English proverbs article at Talk:English proverbs#English proverbs "cleanup"-sign. Progress is slow, but after all six items listed there have been completed (I have been working intermittently on item 4), then this article will probably be merged there. After completion of item 6 the main article will itself be alphabetical by proverb and this article will be redundant. (See related discussion on that talk page under the headings of "Subject headings" and "A compromise about the layout of 'English Proverbs'.")

It is best to focus efforts on the main article at English proverbs, which is a cool project, and a very large one. ~ Ningauble (talk) 16:14, 20 April 2013 (UTC)
