Talk:Civil Disobedience (Thoreau)

Article Title edit

I think maybe "Civil Disobedience" could be the title of a theme article, and so I titled this "Civil Disobedience (Thoreau)" as it is on Wikipedia. I hope this was the correct way of doing it. I've also seen this essay go by "On The Duty of Civil Disobedience" and "Resistance To Civil Government". Maybe redirects are in order? --Teabeard 19:08, 24 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

favourite quote - surely not imagined edit

From memory (having lost my copy of the text) (one of my all-time filetverlitz) :
"For how can he remember well his ignorance, which his growth so requires, who has so often to make use of what he knows?"
I'm quite sure I got this out of "On the Duty of Civil Disobedience" by Henry David Thoreau. It seems to me this would resonate strongly for

many teachers in the U.S.A. today.

This quote is actually from the first chapter of Walden - and I have added it to that page. ~ UDScott (talk) 14:46, 12 November 2015 (UTC)Reply
