Trimming edit
To address copyright concerns, I trimmed the following:
- From chapter 4, "The remnants of Gaullism..." – Not central to the thesis. Quite quotable though: I found this one the hardest to delete, and have no objection if someone wants to put it back.
- From chapter 4, "At root, America and Europe..." – A rather vague statement when taken out of context.
- From chapter 5, two quotes that simply restate well known historical perspectives.
- From chapter 6, very slightly trim the longest quote, keeping the thesis and the context.
I hope this does not do too much violence to the article. It now stands at about 410 words quoted from a 416 page book. While the guidelines at Village pump remain unclear, a ratio under one word per page ought to be unobjectionable so I propose removing the {{checkcopyright}} tag. ~ Ningauble 16:21, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
