Extra quotes

Are all these extra quotes really necessary? Most of the ones here about the film are at most just blurbs from reviews and hardly seem all that memorable. I would hate to see other film pages expand to include such content. Anyone else agree? If it were up to me, I would strip out most of them, leaving maybe the quotes involving Scientology (but even these could be removed). ~ UDScott 00:47, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

The sheer quantity of "quotes about" here is unprecedented, and I too would not like this to become precedent. One could add a thousand quotes per day from the press that covers movies, but 99⁴⁴/₁₀₀% of them lack the qualities of Quotability.

I have a somewhat different perspective than our resident Scientologyologist: quotes that are useful for documenting facts and points of view in a news or analysis article are not necessarily useful for Wikiquote's purposes, in my opinion, if they are not distinctively insightful, pithy, or eloquent, unless the quoted remarks themselves are particularly famous. ~ Ningauble 15:50, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

Respectfully disagree here regarding this issue, it is very useful and educationally valuable to present a wide array of quotes from reliable secondary sources, about this particular subject matter. -- Cirt (talk) 01:19, 22 July 2010 (UTC)
