George Beadle
American geneticist
George Wells Beadle (October 22, 1903 – June 9, 1989) was an American molecular biologist and geneticist. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine with Edward Lawrie Tatum for their discovery of the role of genes in regulating biochemical events within cells.

Added radiation will increase the frequency of mutations; most of these will be harmful.
