Summary

Description
English: The Spanish National pattern, also known as the Old Catalan pattern, is a playing card design used since the 16th or 17th century. It spread from Catalonia and Aragon to the rest of Spain in the 18th century before ceasing production in its homeland in the early 19th century. This pattern is still used in Algeria, Morocco, and Ecuador. The ones in the photo were made by Grimaud, a division of France Cartes, a subsidiary of Cartamundi.
