Summary

Description J. Robert Oppenheimer and Ernest O. Lawrence forged a bond of friendship as young scientists at Berkeley. Here they are on holiday in the early 1930s at Perro Caliente, Oppenheimer's "ranch" (a house on six acres with a stream) located in a mountain meadow northeast of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Translated, Perro Caliente means "hot dog," Oppenheimer's exclamation when he learned he could lease the property.
