wrong category name edit

imo "Americans" is the wrong category name for people that live/come from the USA. Mexicans, South Americans and Canadians wave the same right to call themselves "Americans". I have experienced some people that feel angry about using "Americans" solely for people from the US. --Sebastian.Dietrich 16:32, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

What would you suggest we call them then? This is how people from the United States are commonly referred to and how they describe themselves. ~ UDScott 17:18, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply
Good point - and I have no answer. I just want to point out that some people might have a problem with that name --Sebastian.Dietrich 20:26, 10 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Mark Twain does not appear listed under American authors; an omission that would appear unworthy of a fine site!
"American", as far as the English language is concerned, primarily refers to subjects that pertain to the United States of America. Illegitimate Barrister (talk) 07:37, 27 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
